Hi All,
I am trying to solve a problem with a website I look after which is proving a bit tricky!
Problem is this:
1) User visits page A for the first time in a new session, page load is far from satisfactory
2) Same user, within the same session visits page B - Again, load time is poor
3) Same user, within the same session visits page A again, page load is much, much better, ditto for page B
4) User closes browser, starts again - Page load times are slow again
Home page total size, including images, JS, HTML: 350kb - Not exactly slim, but not enough to be causing the slow load time
I did think this was something to do with SSL, so switched off SSL and restested - The behaviour was exactly the same.
I also thought perhaps this was a DNS problem, but this doesnt make sense - Surely the problem would then only exist for the first page viewed (I am assuming a DNS lookup doesnt occur on every HTTP request!)
Any ideas much ...
