Hello, friends,

As you know, In Windows xp, we can turn on firewall, which blocks all outside sources from accessing my machine.

If I don't allow any exception, does that means all ports are blocked from being used by outside sources to access my machine?

Also, we have TCP/IP filtering. If I only permit port 80, does that mean all other ports are bloked from being used by both inside and outside sources?

I am a little bit confused between these two: What are the differences?

Any reference papers? Thanks a lot. <<
