dataview filter problem while using special characters

hi,
I am binding gridview using dataview.
everything work fine.. but when i use special characters like  *,%,[,],[] problem comes
In my case when i type * it should search all the users in the gridview ...
when i am using the above characters i am getting error....
 
any suggection will be helpful
