change select statement

i want to display result of select statement in this format
select country from countrylist ;
output  abcd  abcd  abcd  abcd  abcd  abcd   abcd  abcd  abcd
but after reach 4 reult  the next result in right side or this way..  
abcd  abcd  abcd  abcd  abcd  abcd  abcd  abcd  abcd
