MVC-Linq-Entity...Where to start?

I learned the basics of Asp.Net Webforms a few years back and that was about it. Now I need a real solid understanding of developingasp.net applications.
With so many new 4 letter abbreviations on how new things to take advantage of, where do I begin?
Is there a solid document or something that explains defenitions and uses for all of these acronyms? 
I used to be able to google asp.net and start reading, but now I need to pick MVC or Web Forms or etc...
Is it possible to point me in the right direction to one of these topics?
