Updating Gridview (or listview) without first having to put it in edit mode?

Hi
I have a Listview and I need to edit the item (row) by typing in the textbox and clicking update without first putting the row into edit mode.

This has always annoyed me with dot.net controls - you really shouldn't need an extra click.
