Best ways in dealing with drop downs c#

Am somewhat confused. Is there a better way to deal with drop downs and getting values , find values of items in a drop down. , dealing with yes/no with values 0/1 or true/false
I have drop downs for numbers , texts . I also have Please select .... with index 0 as well. Is there a good class in c# which can handle these properly for a drop down ?
