So we have our web server, then we have a network share drive that has some documents that we want to link to directly from the site.
Now there is concern that using a Virtual Directory is not a secure way to setup and access from the site.
Is there another way to access the files from a webpage on the web server when the files are located on a different network server?
Is there really a concern with Virtual Directories? I would think that the virtual directory is the safer way since there is no indication of what the other server is or located. since it all points to what seems to be the web server.
any feedback would be great.
