I have created several online databases with Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. With the help of my hosting service, I learned that the version of SQL Server Express was 2008 R2.
Recently the hard drive on my local machine crashed and had to be replaced. I was able to recover my data, but had to reinstall all my programs, including Visual Web Developer 2010 Express, which I downloaded from Microsoft's web site earlier today.
Now when I double-click on a database table in Database Explorer, I get an error message saying that the program cannot handle anything above SQL Server 2008.
I separately downloaded and installed SQL Server 2008 R2, but it didn't make any difference.
If anyone can explain what has happened and what I need to do to make Visual Web Developer work with my existing programs, I would appreciate it.
