Complete working example of VirtualPathProvider

I found this Microsoft support article on using the VirtualPathProvider but it seems that the article is incomplete: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910441
Of course, there is a newer MSDN Article that has a sample using a DataSet: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-IN/library/system.web.hosting.virtualpathprovider.aspx
However, this article does not leverage the same framework set up in the Microsoft support article.
If anyone has a COMPLETE working example based on the Microsoft support article, that would be immensely helpful.
