I work for a big company downtown and our board of directors is asking me on how to create a website and serves millions of visitor.
This is what I came up with. Any addition to this that you might think it help would be very much appreciated. thanks.
1. Scalable cluster and Server farm is required to accommodate higher traffic. This includes separate file, database, backup and proxy cache server with high speed connection.
2. Implementing Load balancing switches and router. Creating smart way to monitor the traffic and direct request and response to the right hardware.
3. Distributed backbone to create high speed connectivity to other devices on the network. By doing so, the bandwidth will be scalable from any aspect.
