Currently I work on a Service Desk and mentioned to my boss my interest in pursuing development. He jumped at the idea and has asked me to build a web service/application to run on new PDAs (replacing MC55 Windows devices with iPod touch and attachable barcode
scanners) we are deploying to sites. It will need to run on IIS and have the same functionality the current Windows mobile application has.
In short it will be a label making application that staff at stores type in ILCs (item lookup codes) or scan barcodes and are then able to create a batch of labels. They can then print these to the store back office printers. Templates etc for this are all
done as well as the SQL DB.
So I will need to call data from the SQL DB that is currently in operation for the Windows mobile devices to carry out the required tasks. This is about all I know..
I have some experience with HTML, CSS and a little bit of PHP. My boss knows this but we have some room ...
