Submitting a form in asp.net

Hi,
     I just need answer to a database question.  Essentially, I am trying to submit a form, and have tried to do so in asp.net, and submit the contents to an sql database, but have failed.  I know that you can submit the form in html, but if you do so, does it submit it to a specific database, or can you?  If you can, an example of the code would be nice.  Also, if anyone has used a MonoX template, a workable example of submitting a form in asp.net in MonoX would be useful (because I do not think it is a coding issue).
