I am a beginner and decided to upgrade from SQL Server Express 2005 to 2008. Due to some “helpful” advice to solve an install SQL2008 problem, I used “Add remove programs” to uninstall SQL2005 – prior to successfully installing SQL2008. Reading the release notes for SQL2008 it seems I should have done some complicated process to the SQL2005 databases prior to uninstalling 2005 -- well, I didn't.I now have a working install of SQL2008 Express along with SQL Management Studio 08. Everything seems to work, I am also using Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition (XP SP3).
