Amidst the recent .NET open source announcements and new goodies in MVC, Webforms got completely forgotten once again. The improvements in 4.6 are utter barebones.
The neglect is almost on Silverlight level now. There's almost a certain disdain visible towards the webforms user base, by Microsoft always boldly claiming that "asp.net is open sourced!" when a huge part of it (webforms) isn't.
