DropDownList1.SelectedValue = reader["comm"].ToString();

Is this right way to show selected value in drop down?
 Response.Write(reader["comm"].ToString());  is displaying correct value.
 DropDownList1.SelectedValue = reader["comm"].ToString();  is not getting correct value selected in drop down...why?
