I'm sure I must of missed something when I installed SQL 2014 Express (with tools), but I just don't see it.
I installed vs2013pro first then downloaded and installed SQL express 2014, enabled the protocols (memory, named pipes and tcp/ip), and poked a hole in the firewall for port 1433.
I can access my instance of SQL (FHSQL) from management studio but I'm unable to get VS 2013 to find the instance when I try to wire up a SQLDataAdapter. It can not create a connection. The service shows up in the server explorer in VS but it won't open.
What Have I missed?
