I've built a few web sites/applications in ASP.NET (web forms). I've recently started developing HTML5 mobile applications using PhoneGap. HTML5 is great, but I'd like to do more. I'd like to be able to send data to send an email. I'd also like to get data
from a database and/or save data. I can't use .net directly, so I think I need to start learning about web services? Or do I?
What I'm after is a few pointers to research. To start out I'd like to keep things simple, and if possible stick to technologies I know (I've not touched MVC), but at the same time, I'd like to learn tech that isn't imminently about to be replaced. Any ideas?
