I have reached a point of complete frustration, here's the situation.
I am trying to install SQL Server 2008R2 Express. The installation fails with two errors.
"SQL Server Express Tools "Failed"
"Previous Releases of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 "Failed"
Both of these issues had previously been uninstalled using the Windows Uninstaller. I have searched the system for any left over items and can find none. I have checked all files and the registry for any left over trace and find none. I have
re run the installer several times always with the same results.
It sure would save a lot problem if the error message provided a little more detail to help find an fix the cause.
