I am specifying a new (budget contrained) server for a very small business which uses an application requiring SQL Server and would appreciate some clarification on the limitations of SQL Server 2014 Express.
I have read in two different places on the Microsoft Site varying information regarding limit of the number of processors and cores that SQL 2014 Express will support. In one place it gives a limit of 4 cores with no mention of the number of processors
and another a limit of 1 processor and no explicit core limit. Assuming that if the two statements are correct then is it reasonable to take the limit to be a single processor with a maximimum of 4 cores?
If that is fact then will SQL Server Express 2014 install on a server with a single processor with more than 4 cores?
If it does then can it be assumed that like its big brothers it will only use 4 of those cores?
