I'm long course developer of desktop application, have deep knowledge of SQL, c# and .net framework, have basic course-level knowledge of asp.net and html, I've never worked on a business project for asp.net.
I've been asked to build a site like the following one: www.culturediscovery.com, the site seems to be build with ModX CMS, Bootstrap, PHP, XML & MySQL.
I would like to ask how to plan technologies to build something like that in the asp.net world, example:
- an idea of how much time I will need to build it...
- do I have to use a CMS or build it from the ground-up ? or do I have to use both ?
- which tech ? asp.net, MVC, ... ?
- books that may guide me in the process of building that work with in the right way
any help is appreciated.
