span not working when update panel is used.

i had used span to show status message on actions in my page.
i had to put my Grid View in an update panel to avoid page refresh when i select an option in my Drop Down List.
ever since i used the update panel. my span status message has stopped showing.
please help me out on this issue. also if any clarification is required, please don't hesitate to post back.

0	Instead of keeping gridview inside updatepanel try to put inside <div> and keep span also inside <div> separately lik this <div > <span class="n">hi</span> </div> <div > <gridview.....> </div> Imabhijith, if this helps please login to Mark As Answer. \| Alert Moderator
