Session Variables storage?

Where the session variables to be stored in the system? what is the maximum size of memory for session?
for ex: cokkies are stored in Temp folder like wise wr the session will be stroring?

0	The contents are stored at the server . However the session is identified by a session-id , which is stored at the client and send with each request. Usually the session-id is stored in a cookie , but it can also be appended to urls.
