how can we define .net framework??????????

i need proper explaination of framework.........
can we say that framework acts as a corordinator b/w our operating system and and user writting code
so that framework can undersatnd our coding and tells the operating system to perform the task and get back to us

0	.NetFramework is single platform which supports 44 languages. CLR plays the main important role among all languages.. Still we have CTS(Common Type system),FCL(Framework Class Library),BCL(Base Class Library).
