How to get sharepoint MCTS certification

Hello All,
I am new to taking the certification for the Microsoft Tech.
I am having 2 years and 8 months of experiance an I am working for SharePoint for more than 1.5 years.

Now I am planning to have the certification for it.
Can anyone guide me how to have a certification for that and what would be the best certification for me?

I have some questions related to the certification.
1. Where to register?
2. From where to get the reference books and articles?
3. What would be the cost for the registraton?
4. I have visited the site http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?ID=70-573. I am confused for "Credit Toward Certification ". What is the meaning of it?
5. What is the certification process? Do I need to pass any exam before this exam for MCTS - SharePoint?

0	To answer your questions, 1. You can go to some NIIT or similar institutes and request for registration. 2. Books you can get from any retailer who sells computer books or you can even purchase it online. 3. The cost I'm not sure about SharePoint certification, but you can always ask to the institutes where you are going for registration. 4. Credit Toward Certification means that you will earn that particular certification. 5. No, you do not need to pass any exam before MCTS - SharePoint. 0	Hi Neeks, Taking microsoft certification exams is very easy provided you follow the process which the certification guides provide. 1) You can register in any prometric centres all over INDIA to take up the microsoft exam... U can check for the list of prometric centrs in your area and register thr. 2) Reference books and preparation guides are avilable in microsoft online itself. Apart from that u can take the sample tests in Acutaltests.com and other 3rd party as well. 3) Cost varies from time to time and at present its something around 2200INR... Also there will be a second shot offer, whr if you didnt clear the first time exam u can take up the the same exam with out paying. 4) Credit towards certification -- as far as i know its not a big deal with the points you are going to get apart from our tech exposure and certificate. 5) MCTS for share point you can refer to the microsoft online link for the exam code.
