datalist control in 3tier architecture

hi this saritha,
iam able to retreive the data from databse to gridview but iam not able to retreive in datalist control. in 3tier architecture.

DataList control has nothing to do with the 3-tier or any other architecture. Might be you are not writing its template fields properly. Check out this DataList tutorials http://www.dotnetfunda.com/tutorials/controls/datalist.aspx. If you are able to populate GridView, you should be able to populate DataList as well.

One important point to note is that DataList doesn't support AutoGenerateColumns as GridView does, so you will have to write ItemTemplate and others explicitly.
