var conn = '<%=ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["ConnectionStringName"].ConnectionString %>'

in Vb you can Use below line to get the value from Web Config
for Connection String,
System.Web.Configuration.WebConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("Name of the Connection").ConnectionString
for AppSetting values
Dim s = System.Web.Configuration.WebConfigurationManager.AppSettings("KEY NAME")

Hi,
i tried using this and giving me connection string value in alert
function test() {
var conn = '<%=ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["WebsiteConnectionString"].ConnectionString %>'
alert(conn);
}
