please let me know how to export the gridview data to excel sheet.

Good Day
In my Company we use Infragistics, Telerik and ComponentArt. Microsoft Controls dont have that capability and the user interface is not attractive. There are companies like those i provided above. They provide great controls to do this. I think you have to start looking at this. but there is a simple way to do it in a normal asp.net app like this

Yeah as Vuyiswa says - commercial components are the best for office introp but it is possible to do it for free if you are on a budget.
