need some information regarding .net

Hi,
Am very new to .net.
Actually in my project we are calling .net webservice from java code.
Project was developed in 2007.
.net framework used is .net1.1
now we need to update the version of .net,as microsoft will not support .net1.1.
So can you please advice us how can we proceed on this.
